Immigration stream reopens, work permits extended for some students
The Canadian government has announced that it will provide some international students with a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) extension of 18 months, and it is also reopening an application route for permanent residence applications after having cleared most of an applications backlog caused by COVID travel restrictions.
UK to launch new visa to bring talented graduated into Britain
On May 30, 2022, the UK will be launching a brand new visa for High Potential Individuals (HPI).
The motto of this visa is to attract highly skilled foreign university graduates, who will be given a chance to work and stay in the UK for at least 2-3 years, depending on the graduation level.
This visa supports applicants working or even setting up as self-employed and volunteers. Foreign nationals do not need a job offer or sponsorship to get a visa.
The new High potential individual route visa simplifies the process for the applicants and ensures that the foreign nationals perform and add to the UK’s economy.

Pay hikes higher than the rate of inflation for workers in Canada in the past year are likely to be a boon for foreign nationals hoping to come here under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Under the TFWP, there are streams, one for high-wage positions and another for low-wage positions. But all employers are required under the TFWP to pay temporary workers competitive salaries regardless of which stream they use to recruit foreign workers.
Latest Trends in Spouse visa Applications in Canada

There are three provinces in which 80 percent of the 64,200 spouse and partner immigrants were welcomed in 2021. These provinces are British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. Ontario has welcomed most of these immigrants according to Open Government figures. Around 29.000 spouse and partner immigrants were welcomed in Ontario, which is 45 percent of the total.
The next province is British Columbia that welcomed 12,000 immigrants, which was 18.5 percent of the total. The last one is Quebec which welcomed 11,000 immigrants and which was 17.3 percent of the total.
Ontario has issued invitations to 301 French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream candidates under the Express Entry draw so that they can apply for Provincial Nominee Program. The invitations were sent out to those candidates whose profiles were available in the Express Entry system and the CRS score was between 460 and 467.
